Read more about this exciting initiative and how to submit tunes on Magnetic North East’s website. Kathryn’s seed of an idea has sprouted! A book of tunes by 100 contemporary female composers from the folk/traditional music scenes of the UK and Ireland is to be published in 2022 by Faber Music.
If you follow Kathryn on Twitter you’ll know that within the space of a few hours two members of The Darkening had to drop out due to Covid. Determined not to let Purbeck audiences down, Kathryn, Amy and Kieran rehearsed long into the night with the superb singer and harpist Rachel Newton. Luckily Rachel will be en route to another show after Purbeck and is able to squeeze in this festival slot on Sunday evening. It will be a memorable show!
